Welcome back - hope you all had a great Fall Break! The first two days of the week will be spent presenting projects that were completed prior to Fall Break.
A Days
Honors Biology: Tests taken prior to fall break will be returned and reviewed. We will begin our study of the cell (chapter 3) by reviewing prior knowledge and taking notes on its history. We will also complete a lab that introduces you to the microscope as well as looking at different plant and animal cells.
- Monday: Notes (if absent, complete Sec 1 Review, p. 71); HW - Vocab Sec. 2, p. 72 (due Wed.)
- Wed: Spreadsheet activity cell surface area vs volume; HW - Vocab Sec 3, p. 77 (due Thurs)
- Thurs: Lab - Cells; HW - study notes, vocab
Tech Essentials: Students will present their PPT presentations as well as begin learning some of the advanced features of Excel.
- Monday: Upload PPT to network folder; Begin presentations
- Wed: Complete presentations; Begin review of PPT - Compare volume/surface area
- Thurs: Complete spreadsheets and graphs volume vs surface area
Modeling/Simulations: We will review prior assignment on the rainforest and variables that affect its viability.
- Monday: Present assignment information from Friday; complete online simulation
- Wed/Thurs: America' Army simulation
B Days:
Multimedia: Students will complete and present slide show on their project, "All About Me" and begin new unit on HTML/webpage design.
- Tues: Project presentations
- Friday: HTML notes/review/complete first webpage
Tech Essentials: Same as A Day assignments
Anatomy & Physiology: Students completed the chapter on Tissues and will begin a new unit on the Integumentary System.
- Tues: Study Guide, chapter 6; Lab - Measuring Skin Sensitivity; HW: Ck Recall (3) Sec. 6.1
- Fri: Notes - Sec. 6.2; Research common skin disorders; HW: Study notes, study guide
