We had a great turnout for our Freshman Student/Parent orientation on Thursday, May 26. I am excited about next year's Freshman and the potential that they all seem to share. Summer is officially here. I have had a week to rest and recuperate from an unusual (weather-wise) school year but an overwhelmingly enjoyable one. Freshman Honors and Multimedia were a joy to teach as I do love to teach "clever" and creative students. I will miss our senior class - so unique, so smart!
Our school system continues to be "in the news" - new superintendent, new recommendations for school consolidations and closings - what will be the final outcome for our school and school system. It has been recommended that New Century be moved to the new Lee HS beginning with the 2012-2013 school year. I have questions but am not entirely pessimistic. Will we have our own principal? Will we have our own wing or unique area of the school? I am on "wait and see" for now...
Finished teaching a workshop for HCS on Moodle and am now off to Louisiana to celebrate my grandson's birthday and watch my granddaughter perform in Fame.
