A Days (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday)

Honors Biology:Protein synthesis - understanding how we get from DNA to proteins is the central dogma of biology.  We will use an online resource, ExploreLearning, to learn more about this important process.

• HW 2/14: Ch. 10, SR p. 210, 1-11 (Q&A)
• HW 2/16: Ch.  10, Ch. Review, 1e, 2-4, 9-11, 13, 18, 23, 28. Test Prep: 1-8.  Test on Ch. 10 Monday
• HW 2/17: Study for test, chapter 10 on Monday

Medical Tech Essentials: On to the muscular system as we continue our overview of human anatomy.  We will complete a dissection of a chicken wing to look at the similarities between human and chicken muscle and skeleton anatomies.Students will complete a google docs (Presentation) on the muscular system.
 Modeling and Simulations:  Students will continue working with various aspects of Flash animation, Sketch-up, Blender, and Gamemaker and present their animations.

B Days (Tuesday and Friday)

Multimedia:  We are still using Audacity software to edit audio.  This week, students will record and edit their own voice recordings in preparation for making their own podcasts.

Medical Tech Essentials:  Same as A days.

Anatomy and Physiology: On Tuesday, we will look at what causes muscles to contract.  Specifically students will use live muscle tissue and add three different solutions to determine which causes the greatest contraction.  On Friday we begin a study of the nervous system.

• Friday, 2/18: Classwork: Review test; Notes: 9.1 - 9.4. HW- Chapter Objectives p. 202 9.1 - 9.3 - complete as questions
